I'd like to know what you would think of joining the communities. That would mean that this wiki is archived - locked from editing but keeping the pages accessible to readers - and put a banner up that directs visitors towards the other, active Official wiki. Anyone who used to edit the now-archived wiki would be able to contribute to the active wiki, and any content on one side that's missing on the other can be moved over with edit histories intact.
So what do you think? Could you see yourself contributing to the Gamepedia wiki? We won't go ahead with this if the communities don't feel good about it!
sorry for the delay, but I'm not very active here anymore. I use the TQ texture tools to extract the .tex files to a .dds format, then edit with photoshop and save as a .png file. If you can't get the tq tools I can happily share : )
I was wondering if you would like to move our wiki to Gamepedia. I currently edit and admin I Am Setsuna Wiki over there. It has less intrusive ads, bigger article body, cleaner, newer version of MediaWiki, easier to edit, less laggy. All of our pages, files, and edits would be moved over.
We also currently use Slack to talk to other editors and the Gamepedia/Curse team who help each other out, which had been really useful.
If you are okay with this, I can get a Gamepedia Manager move it for us. Me and him/her would clean up the coding and make the transition as painless as possible. It would take a couple days to move it 100%, so we could start editing a couple days after we initiate the move. There are a lot of Wikia wiki's that have moved to Gamepedia.
I would only do this if you are okay with this. It is also perfectly fine to stay here if you prefer it.
Oh and also, I'll be contributing more to the wiki soon.
Wikia does not delete their wiki's. This site will stay here as a graveyard, unless someone takes over, which is unlikely because only you and I really edit anything here, with some occasional editors. After the move, I will put the word out on the forums and reddit to notify them about move. We cannot "deface" the wiki's main page by saying that we have moved (Wikia has strict rules and will ban you), but we can put it on our profile pages. You can see what happened here.
I have notified the Gamepedia Managers about the move. The process of moving starts right at the moment of this post. I will notify you when it is completed. You can stop editing until we are done moving :)
After the move, I will be a lot more active on the wiki. And I will invite you to our Slack, so that you can talk with me, other editors, and the Gamepedia Managers.
The Gamepedia Grim Dawn Wiki is up and running. Please create a gamepedia account and log onto the wiki. And also leave a comment on my wall, then we can make you admin and give you access to Slack.
There are some image files that are not finished moving over yet. They will be finished on Monday, because there was some server issues on Friday, so don't reupload them and don't worry about the broken image links.
I'll notify people about our move after all the images are back up and running.
We're really sorry to see you go! You already know that Wikia will keep this wiki open for anyone who wants to continue editing here, so we ask you to please leave the wiki intact for any future editors. For example, please don't use this wiki to advertise your new one, delete content or disable features on the site.
It's OK to link to a blog post or other discussion, as is currently the case with your blog post, but please don't leave a permanent main page notice.
You're welcome to keep your user rights here in case you want to come back and edit at any point, but if you want to be considerate to the remaining community, and are sure you won't come back, you could remove your own rights. That would leave this wiki open for adoption for anyone interested in it.
I hope you'll understand - thanks, and thanks for all your work here, too!
Hi c: was just browsing through Wikia when I stumbled into this wiki. Since I noticed your community page (Special:Community) doesn't have a "To-do list" yet though, I thought I'd point that out.
On one of my wikis I put pictures with links for tasks, which I thought that was a pretty original idea and I'm 100% okay with others using the same, because it's a lot less boring than bullet points. Here's a link: w:c:setsuna:special:community.
That's pretty meta :D Also, you know where it says "Help us grow Grim Dawn Wiki" ? You can upload a picture at File:Community-Page-Header.jpg for that. I'm trying to make something for you but GIMP is freezing as we speak; I'll upload it once I've finished though.
Thanks! That's great. By the way, I made an article about this wiki on "The Wiki Wiki" too: w:c:wikis:Grim Dawn Wiki. Hopefully it will give you guys some more visibility, and you can always help out by documenting this wiki's history.
I plan to generate a few pages by extracting data from the game database. This requires all images to have a consistent naming. Please don't be surprised if you see me re-uploading already existing images with a different name (and don't delete them :p) Chriskang (talk) 15:19, June 27, 2016 (UTC)
That's fine, so long as you replace them on the relevant pages : ) In the early days of the wiki image naming was inconsistent, so thanks for doing this. Any old images that need deleting please let me know.
I'm not sure how to make the info look good so please take a look. Also I used "to" to indicate damage that changes with player level. For example, 18 to 450 means this enemy will deal 18 damage when the player is level 1 and 450 at level 85 (in most cases that's skill lvl 22 since it uses the formula playerLevel/4 + 1) while the "-" is used to indicate damage min-max
I don't mind the videos being added at all, but would prefer if they were kept to the relevant page - the Den of the Lost vid in particular doesn't really need to be on five or six pages. Otherwise keep up the good work!
Hey Heteroclitus, i saw that you added the Clone of John Boubon in the secret bosses section of the "Creatures" page.
However, i heard that this boss is a purple-named monster, so it shall belong to the Unique bosses category. But i have not seen the boss myself and can't find a video footage or a screen, so can you confirme that the Clone of John Bourbon is a red-named monster?
I have fought him, but can't remember the text-colour. I can easily check again though. In any case I think he belongs in the "secret" category, his location is well hidden and not part of the main game, more of an easter egg.
To create a category you just add the category to to bottom of the wiki page - if it is new then the link will be red and you create a new category page from that. Hope that's clear :)
Ok perfect, thank you. I think i'm gonna ask the devs why is the Avatar a Red-named boss and not a Nemesis. It's because of him if i created the "Ultra-boss" section (you didn't loved it as he see) to regroup him and the Nemesis. Thank you for the tips.
Some of the material was in the preceding paragraphs, some of it was out of date, and I don't really like plagiarising too much from the Crate website. i was going to put a link to the Game Guide but it was late and i neglected to do so. If you think it should be put back I'll sort it.
