The Plains of Strife is a world area in Act 4. It connects to Fort Ikon and the Gates of Necropolis. The area also contains a Chthonic Rift that leads to The Forsaken Wastes, with 3 spawn locations.
The ground in this area is covered in Flare Mines, which can damage both the player and enemies.
Lore- the name of the area most likely refers to the ongoing battle between the Black Legion and the Aetherials in the area. The region has become pockmarked by the many engagements between the 2 forces, leaving numerous areas covered in Aetherfire and small craters, likely due to cannonfire from the many cannons in the area. The Black Legion has set up numerous roadblocks made out of both barbed wire and timber rails, however much of the area has been overrun by Aetherials, although some Black Legion Squads can be found fending off the aetherials.
