This area is floor 4 of The Steps of Torment dungeon in Act 2. Personal rifts cannot be opened on this level.

Suffering contains the Chamber of Souls (also known as the Death Room). On entering, the player is sealed in the room and must defeat 3 waves of monsters before the Bone Reliquary can be opened and the room unsealed.

Another sealed room at the top of the map holds the unique boss Ilgorr, the Eternal.
